Clean Your Floors

Dust or even small rocks can cause significant damage to your floors if they are caught between heavy furniture and the floor. Make sure you sweep your floors to remove any dust or dirt.
Cover Your Floors
Another way to protect your floors when moving furniture is to cover to prevent scratches, scrapes, and dents. There are many different types of products that can be used for this purpose. You can find shock-resistant protective mats that can be cut to any size you need. There are also plastic runners which roll out flat and stick to your floor with a non-adhesive and slip-resistant backing.
